Our annual volunteer appreciation coffee is Wednesday, April 26th, from 7:30am-8:15. It will be held in the gallery and parents are invited to attend the Storytellers assembly afterwards until 9am. It is the school's way of saying THANK YOU for all the volunteers we have at Sherwood Forest. If you volunteer in any way at the school, please stop by and grab a coffee!

PTA Egg Drop
PTA EGG DROP THURSDAY, MAY 11 TH | DURING LUNCH RECESSES We invite all students (and teachers too) to participate in an egg drop on May 24th during our lunch recesses.  (K-1 st Grade during 1 st lunch recess; 2 nd – 3 rd Grade during 2 nd lunch recess; 4 th – 5 th Grade during 3 rd lunch recess) Our egg drop provides an opportunity to learn about energy, motion and design while having fun watching eggs splatter.    GOAL Participants build an egg holder that will protect a large raw, uncooked egg that will be dropped from a ... read full article

Staff Appreciation Week
Staff Appreciation  Week is a national event where students and parents take some extra time to celebrate the time, energy and heart teachers and staff put into educating our kids. Here at Sherwood Forest we have fun activities planned for every day of the week including a breakfast, a luncheon, and of course lots of opportunities for students to show big  appreciation  with small gestures. Kirby Larson To Visit Sherwood Forest!
Award-winning local author Kirby Larson will be visiting Sherwood Forest on Monday, May 8 th thanks to a Bellevue Schools Foundation Arts, Enrichment and Innovation Grant and the support from our PTA.  In a 45-minute interactive program, Kirby will share her writing journey, from early influences to present day challenges.  Kirby will “talk about three of the most important story elements, focusing on how she finds the delicious details that bring her stories to life.”  Kirby will meet with 2 nd , 3 rd and 4 th Graders in the Library to extend their awareness of our local and world ... read full article

Yearbook Photo Submissions
Each year, Sherwood Forest creates a yearbook that highlights our students, families, teachers, and staff.  We want you to play a part in the creation of this year's yearbook.  You can do this by submitting pictures that you take throughout the year.  We welcome your pictures and would love to use them, but realize that it would be impossible to use all of the pictures that are submitted.  Please understand that we will review all submissions and will choose the ones that best represent our student body. WISE Camps for Grades 3-9
WISE Camps (Western Institute for Scholarly Education) Math and Science Camps will be held at Newport High School this August for students entering grades 3-9. Topics include medicine, marine science, chemistry, physics, competition math and forensic science). Newport Soccer Camp
Introducing Newport Soccer Camp! These clinics (located in Bellevue) give children from the ages of 5-10 a unique opportunity to learn soccer for the first time or enhance their skills. These clinics are run by local high school aged soccer stars with a passion for teaching tactics and teamwork in a fun, safe, and comfortable environment. Our camps are now open for enrollment and scholarships are available so everyone can participate. Our first camp of 2017 begins in February and runs for seven consecutive Saturdays.
